Course Description - AJ222

This course will provide the attendee with a comprehensive background of the issues, legal considerations, and procedures concerning internal investigations. The course focuses on the investigative aspects of internal discipline, and provides the attendee with an understanding of the government code sections 3300- 3311, case law, and procedures concerning internal investigations.

Prerequisites

A California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Course certificate issued from an accredited regional police academy or equivalent as determined by the division Dean or their appointee. These skills and knowledge base are related to adopted POST and/or industry standards. NOTE: Approval of equivalent training is not a guarantee state regulatory or licensing agencies will also grant equivalency.
