Description

The course in Interview & Interrogation for Patrol Officers is designed to assist the patrol/probation officer in investigating crimes that have witnesses and/or suspects and preparing the best possible reports to prosecute the case. The course is based on behavioral analysis and includes definitions, preparation factors, observation skills, application of techniques, legal aspect, lineups and showups, and trial problems.

Prerequisites

A California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Course certificate issued from an accredited regional police academy or equivalent as determined by the division Dean or their appointee. These skills and knowledge base are related to adopted POST and/or industry standards. NOTE: Approval of equivalent training is not a guarantee state regulatory or licensing agencies will also grant equivalency.

This course of instruction is directed to individuals currently employed in a Public Safety Agency with
aspirations of Personal and Professional Growth, or completion of the Basic Police Academy.
