Welcome to Fresno City College Women’s Volleyball! My name is Tracy Ainger-Schulte and I am proud to be one of the newest members of the Ram family and its tradition of athletic excellence! I have spent my entire volleyball career as a player and coach here in the Central Valley and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my ties to valley volleyball here at FCC.
I want to take a moment to share with you just what it takes to be a member of our program and the expectations that come with being a part of Fresno City College Volleyball. We pride ourselves on holding our athletes to a higher standard both on and off the court. Practice sessions are physically and mentally demanding as we work to enhance each of our athletes’ talents and abilities. However, we also strongly adhere to the philosophy that “The strength of the team is each member, and the strength of each member is the TEAM.” Therefore, we work to develop camaraderie, respect, and commitment within our team on a daily basis, as we feel that this is what separates the good teams from the great ones.
Members of our team are also expected to dedicate themselves to academic success in the classroom. It is our goal to develop each of our athletes into what we consider a “complete package” during their two years in our program. We want our student athletes to be self-motivated, highly respected individuals who are ready to take that next step in life – whether it’s on the volleyball court, in the classroom, or in the workplace.
Our pursuit of excellence demands a total team effort from both the players and the coaches. In this respect, I am very fortunate to have a coaching staff that is highly experienced and extremely dedicated to the teaching philosophies of this program. Like any good team, this staff works well together to compliment each others strengths and weaknesses in an effort to achieve success. Justin Adams (middle blockers coach), Lisa Fowler (setting coach), and Art Tamayo (defensive coach) each bring a certain level of expertise to this staff that makes for an outstanding combination.
Preparations are already under way for a successful season! Our athletes and coaches are working hard to insure an exciting brand of volleyball that will live up to the tradition of Ram athletics!
