Articulation

Welcome to the articulation information page.

The purpose of articulation is to facilitate the successful transfer of students from the community colleges to the baccalaureate colleges and universities.

Articulation is the process of evaluating courses to determine whether course work completed at one institution will meet requirements for admissions, transfer credit, general education or major preparation at another institution. Articulation agreements are formal written agreements signed by the faculty from the sending and receiving colleges and universities.

The Fresno City College articulation officer develops and coordinates course articulation between two-year institutions and baccalaureate granting universities. This process enables transfer students from Fresno City College to complete a successful transfer to a baccalaureate granting institution.

Web ASSIST Articulation - Save $$$. Find out what lower division cores major prerequisites you can complete at Fresno City College BEFORE transferring to the university of your choice.

If you are planning to transfer you may want to use Project ASSIST, a helpful planning tool. ASSIST is the computerized Official California Articulation database and transfer planning system that provides transfer-related information for California Community College, California State University, and University of California campuses. ASSIST is a collaborative activity of these public and post-secondary educational institutions.

The advantage of ASSIST is that is provides access to transfer-related information using computer rather than the numerous paper catalogues and articulation agreements that are otherwise required for transfer planning. ASSIST quickly organizes course information that is in its database so that each student's transfer plans and academic goals can be uniquely addressed.
