Our Mission Statement
As a fine arts department, our goal is to provide a learning environment that offers students the opportunity to explore their creativity and imagination and to move consciously toward an awareness of their capacity for artistic self-expression. Our intention is to challenge the student to develop new ways of seeing and thinking and to encourage adventures in self-discovery.

To this end our department provides courses in:

Occupational Education (training for careeers in the fine and applied arts)
General Education (art experiences for the larger student population)
Courses For Transfer

Notes:

1. An associate in arts degree in art will be awarded to any candidate who successfully completes a total of 60 units, which includes associate degree requirements and a minimum of 27 units of course work as listed in the Fresno City College Catalog.

2. Associate degree requirements are listed on pages 33-35 . General Education requirements for transfer certification are listed on page 40 of the Fresno City 2010-2012 College Catalog.
