Objective of Training Program:
To create a workforce that can facilitate the implementation and support of an electronic health care system. Those who take advantage of this professional training in health IT will find opportunities for interesting, challenging, and significant work. Not only do these opportunities represent new jobs, they represent promising careers in a growing sector of the nation’s economy.
How long is the training? Each Role is a maximum of six months. You will earn a certificate upon completion.
Method of Delivery: Online via Blackboard
How many will be trained? 40 Students will be accepted into each cohort
Prerequisites for Training:
- Must be committed to approximately 30 hours per week of online material, discussions boards, homework and quizzes/tests
- A background in IT or health care which may include education, work experience or both is extremely helpful
- Complete and submit Health IT Workforce Roles Training Program Application packet
How much does it cost? Training is currently FREE. Registration fees are subsidized for Cohorts beginning in 2012.
