Chapter 31 – Vocational Rehabilitation
Entitlement for vocational rehabilitation services is determined on an individual basis following an evaluation of the veteran’s interests, aptitudes, education, work experience, and vocational abilities. Each school is assigned a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to work with Chapter 31 students and the school officials.
If the veterans incurred, or have an aggravated service-connected disability, it can entitle him/her to VA disability compensation.
This will create a need for vocational rehabilitation because the disability creates an employment handicap.
Veterans’ majors are determined by the evaluation results of the Veterans Administration, and the educational plans may only reflect the majors that have been authorized for payment.
