CACFP Management Course for Directors of Child Care Centers

2014 Promoting Integrity Now (PIN) Training

Course Description: The CACFP Management Course for Directors of Child Care Centers is designed to promote program accountability, integrity, and quality meals for children. 

Areas to be reviewed in this three-day course include:
  •  Budgeting and record keeping
  •  Administrative review requirements
  •  Basic nutrition and child nutrition
  •  Menu planning and production records
  •  Food safety principles
  •  Monitoring requirements
  •  Staffing
  •  Technical resources

This three-day training is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Target Audience
This PIN training is planned for new center directors or new staff who have administrative and financial responsibilities for the CACFP. Established sponsors who need a refresher course or sponsors whose programs are in a seriously deficient status will also benefit from the training.


Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available:  21.0

Cost
The registration fee is $175.00 per person and must be received in our office by the registration deadline. This fee covers the cost of training materials and morning and afternoon refreshments. Lunch is not provided.

Enrollment
Pre-registration is required and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Registration is a two-step process. To register follow the directions below:

Step 1: Online Registration Instructions (CNIPS)

  • Obtain your agency’s five digit Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS) ID number or personal User ID and password.
  • Visit the California Department of Education CNIPS Training Web page at https://www.cnips.ca.gov/ccgCnpTraining/training/trainingRegistration_2.aspx to connect to CNIPS and begin the registration process. Each person must register individually.
  • Use your agency’s CNIPS ID or your personal User ID and password to register and follow the system prompts as shown below:         

           o       Program Training Available screen—Select All

o       Available Training(s) screen—Select CACFP Management Course for Directors of Child Care Centers (PIN)

o       Available Training Location screen—select preferred location

o       After completing the Attendee Information and before selecting the finish button and exiting the system, print your CNIPS Training Confirmation.  You will need to mail a copy of this CNIPS Training Confirmation with your payment. A training confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided upon completion of the registration process.

Step 2: Payment Instructions (FCC Cal-Pro-NET)

  • Mail a copy of your CNIPS Training Confirmation notice and a check, money order, or purchase order for $175.00 payable to the FCC Cal-Pro-NET Center. Credit card payments will not be accepted.
  • Payment must be received by the registration deadline to be officially registered.
  • Once you have registered in CNIPS, you will receive an invoice with payment instructions.
  • If you have any questions regarding the payment process, please contact the FCC Cal-Pro-NET Center by phone at 559-489-2237. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Cancelling Only and Not Sending a Replacement: Please contact the CNIPS Help Desk.
  • Refunds: To request a refund, e-mail the FCC Cal-Pro-NET Center at fcc.calpronet@fresnocitycollege.edu before the registration deadline. For questions, contact the FCC Cal-Pro-NET Center at 559-489-2237.
    • Confirmation
      Confirmation packets with driving directions, local hotels, and restaurants will be mailed after payment is received and processed. Course manuals will be provided at the training.
