If you are in good standing, you are encouraged to use WebAdvisor to add or drop classes. If you are not familiar with WebAdvisor, instructions are available. If you do not have access to a computer, you may add or drop classes at the Admissions and Records counter during regular business hours. Be sure to bring your government issued photo ID.

Check the Important Dates page for information on determining important deadlines.

Deadline Exceptions

These deadlines are determined by the State of California and are defined in Title 5, Part VI, Division 6 of the California Code of Regulations. Exceptions to these deadlines can only be made due to extenuating circumstances. For Add Deadline exceptions, contact the instructor teaching the class.

Adding Classes

You must be in Good Standing to add classes to your schedule.

Good Standing consists of:

  • Having an active application in the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) at either Fresno City College, Reedley College, or Clovis Community College
  • No Registration Holds
  • No Academic Holds*
  • No Business Office Holds with any college in the SCCCD

If you are in Good Standing, you may add classes on or after your assigned Registration Date as long as it is within the Pre-Registration period. If it is within the Late-Registration period, you must have a Student Add Label or an email with an Authorization Code from the instructor.

Add Deadlines:

  • Pre-Registration Period - All full and short term classes may be added at any time prior to the end of Pre-Registration.
  • Late Add Period - All full and short term classes may be added by any time prior to the end of the Late Add Period (before 20 percent of the class meeting shave occurred).

* If you are on an Academic Restriction to a specified number of units and will not exceed that number of units with the classes you wish to add, you may still add classes, but you must do so in person at the Admissions and Records counter. Be prepared to show your authorization from Counseling and your government issued photo ID.

Dropping Classes

You do not need to be in good standing to drop classes from your schedule. However, if you are not in good standing, you must do so in person at the Admissions and Records counter and must show your government issued photo ID.

Drop Deadlines:

  • Pre-Registration Period - All full and short term classes may be dropped at any time prior to the end of Pre-Registration. Class fees paid for classes dropped during this period will be credited.
  • Early Drop Period - All full and short term classes may be dropped prior to 5:00pm on the last day of the Early Drop Period (before 10 percent of the class meetings have occurred) for a full refund.
  • Late Add Period - All full and short term classes may be dropped at any time prior to the end of the late Add Period (before 20 percent of the class meetings have occurred). There will be No Refund for classes dropped during this period, even if the class was added during this period. Classes dropped during this period will not appear on your End of Term Official Transcript.
  • Late Drop Period - All full and short term classes may be dropped at any time prior to the end of the Late Drop Period (before 50 percent of the class meetings have occurred). Classes dropped during this period will be considered a “withdrawal” and will appear on your End of Term Official Transcript with a “W” instead of a letter grade. There will be No Refund for classes dropped during this period.
  • Post Drop Period – Once the Late Drop Period has ended (after 50 percent of the class meetings have occurred), classes may only be dropped with a “W” if the withdrawal is caused by Extenuating Circumstances. Classes dropped for circumstances beyond your control will be considered a “withdrawal” and will appear on your End of Term Official Transcript with a “W” instead of a letter grade. There will be No Refund for classes dropped during this period. See the Withdraw for Extenuating Circumstances section for complete details.
