2017--18 Mandatory Training

Roundtable Pre-conference October 23, 2017

The California Department of Education (CDE) is offering the 2017--18 Mandatory Training for all Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) agencies as a pre-conference session at the annual Child Care Food Program Roundtable Conference.

Please note: You must register for this pre-conference session through the Fresno City College (FCC) Cal-Pro-NET Center. Registering to attend the Roundtable Conference will not automatically register you for this mandatory training pre-conference session. 

Topic: CACFP New Meal Pattern (NMP)

Description: This year marks the first major meal pattern update since 1968.  Register for this pre-conference session to receive up-to-date information on the CACFP NMP! 

Attendees will learn about the many updates to the CACFP meal pattern requirements, including information on nutrition, portion sizes, appropriate crediting, and documentation. In addition, this session will provide participants with information on changes to child and adult meal service as well as guidance for serving various populations. During this session CACFP agencies will also learn about the several resources available that will assist them in implementing the new requirements.

If you attend this session you will not be required to take the online 2017--2018 mandatory training in 2018.

California CACFP Agencies

The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins will be limited due to room capacity limitations.

Non-California CACFP Agencies

To attend the pre-conference session, you will need to pre-register by sending an e-mail with your contact information to the Fresno City College Cal-Pro-NET Center at Please state that you would like to attend the pre-conference session and include your name, address, and phone number. The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Do not create an account with the Fresno City College Cal-Pro-NET Center.                   

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins will be limited with preference being given to California CACFP agencies.

No refreshments will be provided during this training.
