COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 16-hour course is designed for the Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Probation Officer,
Juvenile Hall Staff, Court Bailiff and Correctional Staff. This course will instruct students in explosive
identification as first responders. Subjects covered include types of explosives, types of explosions, effects of explosions, how to handle bomb threats and suspicious packages. Students will observe an explosive demonstration and participate in practical exercises where they will utilize searching techniques learned from the instructor to search for explosives. Aspects of terrorisim, and current trends of terroism will also be covered during the presentations.

PREREQUISITE:
This course of instruction is directed towards individuals currently employed in a Public Safety Agency.
