COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course meets all of the requirements of Section 832 of the California Penal Code and the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). PC 832 is required for many law enforcement job positions including, but not limited to: reserve peace officer, correctional officer, probation officer, arson investigator, animal control officer, and many others.
PREREQUISITE:
P.C. 13511.5 requires those students taking the firearms portion of PC 832 to have a California Department Of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint clearance check completed before class begins. Departments are required to submit or fax a clearance letter on departmental letterhead stating the student/employee has been cleared by DOJ during their department’s background hiring process. Non-department students must provide a copy of their DOJ clearance letter prior to enrollment in the class.
