This year’s Distinguished Alumna is renowned local artist Ms. Margaret Hudson. Margaret attended Fresno City College from 1989-1997 where she participated in several art classes and studios. Her love of nature and art came together as she began creating with clay the birds and other animals native to her Central California home and the nearby Sierra Nevada. By 1980, Earth Arts Studio was established and in 1990 Margaret expanded into painting. Today, hundreds of Margaret’s works, including sculptures, planters, fountains and large garden pieces grace Valley homes, schools, hospitals, libraries and parks.

Mr. Sergey Saluschev will serve as Commencement Speaker. Sergey is a 2010 graduate of Fresno City College. A former dean’s medallion winner and Associated Student Government President, Sergey is completing his master’s degree at University of California, Santa Barbara this June in International/Global Studies. He holds a bachelor of arts in International Relations and Affairs from UC, Davis. Sergey’s studies have taken him worldwide. He recently returned from Turkey and nearby countries where he completed research for his degree. He also participated in the Clinton Global Initiative University in New York. CGIU is based on President Bill Clinton’s successful Clinton Global Initiative, which brings together world leaders to take action on global challenges.
