Welcome to Fresno! When you arrive
in Fresno please report to the Fresno City College International
Admissions Office to complete the required application process.
Contact the International Students Office if you'd like help
making travel arrangements from the airport. If you have any
questions, please contact us at (559) 442-8224.
You are
advised to be on campus for orientation at least two weeks prior
to the first day of instruction of each term. Please note that
earlier arrival ensures a better selection of classes.

Orientation
International
students must attend a mandatory orientation. The orientation
program will contain information about selecting classes,
immigration regulations, degree requirements, how to register for
classes, and other important topics. The orientation is free,
refreshments will be served, a FCC school catalog, schedule of
courses, and a resource manual will be given to you.
A
consultation with an International Student Counselor is required
at the orientation and each semester
thereafter.
You will
receive a letter about the orientation, but it is your
responsibility to verify the orientation date with the
International Admissions Office, (559) 442-8224.

English Placement Tests
An English
placement test must be taken at the Fresno City College Assessment
Center and the results are to be submitted to the
International Admissions Office. The English Placement Test score
should be in our office before you attend an orientation. Please
take the test as soon as possible. Contact the International

Health Insurance
You are required to purchase a
health insurance and accident policy that has been approved, and
is available, through Fresno City College before registration will
be permitted. This coverage includes repatriation and medical
evacuation. Please note that the health insurance must be paid at
the Business Office before registering for classes. For more

Certificate of Freedom
Certificate
of freedom from the Tuberculosis, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
vaccinations. These tests are
pre-enrollment requirements and are provided at no cost by the
Fresno City College
Health Services Office. You may present your health records to the FCC Health
Services Office for verification. For questions call

Form I-20 Requirements
In accordance
with
BCIS regulations, if you have been granted a visa
with F-1 status to attend a certain college, the institution that
has issued the original Form I-20 must confirm your full-time
attendance for a period of time prior to your transferring to
another school (4.8.1 Eligibility).

F-1 Status Requirements
You are
required to have F-1 status in order to be admitted to Fresno City
College. If you have entered the United States with another
status, you must be approved by this college for the Form I-20,
then an application must be sent to the BCIS for a change of status
to F-1.

Twelve Unit Minimum
You must be enrolled in and
complete, a minimum of twelve (12) units every semester to remain
in-status with the
BCIS Failure to do this may jeopardize your
ability to remain in the United States. Classes at Fresno City
College are typically 3-4 units each. You may attend summer
sessions, but are not required to do so. You must also have a 2.4
GPA (cumulative) to transfer to a four-year university.

Completion of a Course
of Study
As a new
student you should plan to complete your course of study at Fresno
City College after four to five semesters, but no more than six
semesters. At that point, you may transfer to another college or
university in this country for further education if you have a
cumulative GPA of 2.4. If you wish to continue to study in this
country, selection of an institution should be made as soon as
possible after arriving in order to be informed of
admission/transfer requirements to that school.

Transfer Students
If you are
transferring from another U.S. institution you must complete a
transfer form available from our office. A copy of the Form I-20
from the previous school is required, a copy of the passport pages
showing status is required, and official transcripts from the
previous school must be provided for Fresno City College.
