Employment in the US
International students may seek on-campus employment after the successful completion of one semester at Fresno City College.

Approval for employment off-campus because of severe economic hardship is difficult to obtain, and must be approved by the bureau of citizenship and immigration services (BCIS). U.S. BCIS Website.

If employment is absolutely necessary after the first academic year ONLY because of unforeseen severe economic hardship, students are advised to contact the International Admissions Office for details and procedures.

Students are eligible for a maximum of one year of “practical training” employment if the work is related to their major. Students may apply and work part-time while in school, or approval may be granted during the last year of the students' studies for one year of full-time employment upon the completion of their studies.
