Fresno
County is one of California’s largest and most diverse counties.
Including an area of more than 6,000 square miles, it is the state’s
sixth largest county. Within its boundaries are some of the world’s
most fertile agricultural land and most majestic mountains, lakes,
and forests. The city of Fresno, the county’s largest metropolitan
area and its commercial and cultural hub, is nestled between the
Valley floor and the
Sierra foothills.
The county includes many attractive cities and
towns, each with its own character. Housing in Fresno County is
affordable, with a vast array of lifestyle choices. Whether you
prefer rural or urban, suburban or mountain village, affordable
housing choices are available.
Fresno County is one of the nation’s only counties
within an easy drive to three national parks: Yosemite National
Park (92 miles), Sequoia National Park (81 miles) and Kings Canyon
National Park (55 miles). Outdoor recreational activities are
abundant, with a full range of winter and summer sports including
a ski and
snowboard resort, Sierra Summit; a large warm water lake nestled
in the Sierra foothills, Millerton Lake; and two large alpine
lakes, Huntington Lake and Shaver Lake.
The Greater Fresno Area is California's New
Frontier for business and superb quality of life. It's a diverse
population, a community of college towns, a spacious region near
both mountains and shore yet within driving distance of San
Francisco and Los Angeles.
