Learning Resources Center (LRC)

The college Learning Resources Center, located on the south side of the campus, houses all the supplemental learning resources for faculty and students. The LRC includes the Library, Media Center, Tutorial/Learning Center and Open Computer Lab. The High Tech Lab, a distance learning classroom, the Assessment Center and a special math lab make up the remainder of the LRC.

Library

The Library includes a 270-seat reference and research room, a 100-seat periodicals room plus the 200-seat reading and stack area. The Library houses more than 75,000 volumes and regularly receives over 1,000 periodicals and newspapers in hard copy and electronic formats. Library staff offers individual assistance in the use of the many learning resources available in the LRC.

Media Center

The Media Center houses the administrative dean's office, instructional audiovisual services, the Tutorial/Learning Center (TLC), and the open computer lab.

In the centrally located Media Center office you will find the administrative dean's office and instructional audiovisual services, which include equipment circulation, graphic arts, the video library and audiovisual and computer equipment storage and repair.

The Tutorial Center offers all students on campus free learning assistance in all subject areas and basic skills. Students can receive help by arranging an appointment with the Tutorial Center receptionist.

The Learning Center includes stations equipped with cassette tape decks, videotape players and related materials for use by students or staff.

The 68-station computer lab (64 IBM compatibles and 4 Macintoshes) has a variety of software for word processing and specialty programs required for certain classes. Assistance is available but at least beginner-level computer skills are necessary.
