Reserve-Old Modular Format
The Old Modular
Format (A,B,C,D) is no longer in use nor is the Level 3 Part 1 & Part 2.
New Modular Format
The reserve format
is made up of three levels. The modules must be taken in order
(Level 3, Level 2, Level 1). Starting January 1, 2007 Level III will be the combination of Level III parts 1 and 2. (PC 832 will be a stand alone course). If a student has completed PC 832, and desires to go on in the Reserve program, the student must take the new Level III as there won't be a part 2.
Level 3 185 hours and is offered once each semester,
in a weekend format beginning January 6 and ending April 1, 2007. Classes are held on Sat. and Sun. from 8am to 5pm.

Entrance Requirements
to the Reserve Police Academy Level 3
1. Be 18 years of age and have
a high school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Department of Justice
clearance for firearms possession prior to the firearms
portion of Level 3.
Level 2 is offered in a weekend format beginning April 14, 2007 and ending September 9, 2007.
The following
prerequisites
are required for the Level 2 Module
- Successful completion of the Level 3 Module
- Successful completion, within the last three years, of First Aid and CPR training for public
safety
personnel as prescribed by the Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) and set forth in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 9, Chapter 1.5 § 100005- § 100028.

is awarded upon satisfactory completion of each course.

| If you are over
18 and have a high school diploma or GED certificate, and have attended any
colleges with good academic standings, then you meet the basic
requirements. You will also need to complete, submit and pass
the POST written English exam and physical agility tests. You will also
be required to attend an interview, have a valid California driver's
license, and provide proof of: physical exam, electrocardiogram
(EKG) print out, DMV printout, DOJ clearance for firearms possession. |
