Do you need help planning for your future? Since 1973, the Career Center has been assisting students at Fresno City College with career planning and educational decisions. It serves as a specialized resource center for students, as well as for the counselors and faculty who work with them. The Center offers career guidance, assessments and extensive information on occupations, majors and colleges.

SELF-EXPLORATION
Who am I? What career pathway would fit me? Come to the Career Center to set up your initial appointment. Career Center counselors and advisors are here to guide you through an individualized, self-paced career planning process starting with YOU! These self-assessments are available to you:
True Colors
- Hands-on, interactive activities
- Designed to help you explore and identify your personality preferences and strengths
DISCOVER
- Computer-based career guidance system
- Includes INTEREST, ABILITY and VALUES assessments
- Proceed through a step-by-step, interactive process and generate a printout of your results
EUREKA MicroSkills
- Computerized skills assessment
- Identify and link your most enjoyed and satisfying skills to possible future occupations.
- Generate a 3-part report to take home with you.
Strong Interest Inventory
- Popular, widely-used and comprehensive online assessment
- Matches your interests with career fields, occupations and majors
- Includes a follow-up interpretation session with a career counselor and an extensive printed report of your results
- Cost to current students: $10.50 (partial administration fee)
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
- Well-known, well-researched personality assessment
- Gain insights into your personality style and the way you experience the world and relate to others (Most users report an “Aha!” response.)
- Includes a follow-up interpretation session with a career counselor and an printed report of your results

How to Choose a Major Workshops
Are you confused or undecided about your major? These introductory workshops will help you explore strategies for choosing a major. Sign up in advance at the Career Center desk, no charge
Individual Career Counseling and Coaching
Open Career Labs
These are offered in the Assessment Center, in the east Wing of Library, in room LI-146. Go to the Career Center desk in Counseling for a schedule of open lab dates and hours.
Career Center Presentations to Classes and Groups
FCC instructors, or campus group leaders, may call the Career Center to arrange class visitations. Career Center team members can offer a show-and-tell presentation about Career Center services and resources, or present a True Colors workshop. True Colors is an interactive program that encourages self-exploration, an important first step in career planning. It is designed to help participants identify and explore their personality styles and promote understanding of self and others.
