The Disabled Students Programs and Services office (formerly the Enabler Program) was established in 1970 to provide supportive services for students with learning, physical and/or psychological disabilites.

GraphicIt became a landmark program and Fresno City College earned the status of being the first comunity college in California to offer a comprehensive disabled students program.

DSP&S offers services beyond those provided to the mainstream Fresno City College programs and "enables" students with disabilities to successfully pursue their educational, vocational and personal goals.

Application Process

Individuals who are interested in attending Fresno City College and receiving services from the Disabled Students Programs and Services please complete the following steps:

  • Complete an application for enrollment through the college's admissions and records office.
  • You will receive a notice of acceptance through the admissions and records office.
  • Call the DSP&S office (559) 442-8237, 442-8238 Voice/TDD for an appointment with a DSP&S counselor.
  • Counselors are assigned by an alphabetical breakdown of last names.
  • The counselor will assist you in selecting your classes, selecting your supportive services and developing your educational contract.
  • Bring appropriate disabillity verification to this first counseling session.
  • You and your counselor will review DSP&S Programs and Services
  • Be prepared to pay for your fees at the time of registration including course registration and your health fees.
  • You will receive a verification of your courses enrolled and payment of fees.
