What is WebAdvisor? WebAdvisor is a Web interface that allows you to access information contained in the administrative database used by Fresno City College and State Center Community College District. If you are enrolled at any of our campus locations, your student records may be available online. WebAdvisor allows access to your personal profile that is part of your official records at the College. With your personal profile, you can review: Your Class Schedule Payment Due Dates Current & Past Grades Grade Point Average by Term Program Evaluation Account Summary by Term Financial Aid Status by Year Registration Dates & Holds (Registration Eligibility Information) You can also: Change Your Passwords Change Your Address Register For Classes Search For Classes Add a Class Drop a Class Apply for Graduation All of the forms and infrastructure comprising WebAdvisor are the product of, and are supported by Datatel. The terms and restrictions of use may be found by clicking on the "Powered by Datatel" icon found on Web Advisor . Do I Need To Register For Access To WebAdvisor? No. If you are a current student, you are already part of the WebAdvisor System. You will need your 7-digit student identification number (aka Datatel ID number) and your birthdate. Your user name is your lastname_studentid#; example: smith_0123456. Your initial password is your 6-digit birthdate in the format MMDDYY. Can’t remember your user name? Use the “What’s My User ID?” link on WebAdvisor. WebAdvisor will tell you your user name when you indicate your last name and social security number. The first time you login to WebAdvisor, you will be required to change your password. WebAdvisor passwords must be 6 to 9 characters in length and must include both alpha and numeric characters. A password hint option is available to help you remember your password in the future. Login To WebAdvisor If you have not registered for a class, you can begin the process online ... just click here and get started! Which browsers can I use with WebAdvisor? WebAdvisor operates effectively with Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers on PCs or Macs. For best results the browsers should be Versions 4 or later. While Internet Explorer Release 4.x functions satisfactorily on Macintosh platforms, you will achieve a more aesthetic appearance with Explorer Version 5 or later. WebAdvisor has been installed on other platforms, such as X Windows, but it has not been rigorously tested on these platforms and the results may be problematical. Download The Latest Netscape Browser Download The Latest Microsoft Explorer Browser How do I print a form using my browser? For PC Users - You can print a form by clicking the Print icon on the Toolbar of your browser. Alternately, you can click File, and then click Print in the drop-down menu. Then click OK in the displayed Print dialog box. The document will be printed on the printer indicated in the text field Name in the Print dialog box. You can change the destination printer by selecting another printer in the Name drop-down list box and then click OK. Some of the forms will be more legible if you print them using Landscape mode. To print a form in Landscape mode, click File, then click Print, and then click Properties in the Printer dialog box. A Document Properties dialog box will appear. Click the Page Setup tab and then the Landscape radio button in the Orientation section of the dialog box. Click OK to set the Landscape mode and OK once more to cause the form to print. After the form has printed you might want to reset your system back to Portrait mode by following the same procedure you used to set Landscape mode. For Macintosh Users - You can print a form by clicking the Print icon on the Toolbar of your browser and then click Print in the pop-up dialog box. Alternately, you can click File, and then click Print in the pop-up dialog box. The document will be printed on the printer indicated at the top of the pop-up dialog box. You can change the destination printer by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of the window and then clicking Chooser in the drop-down menu. The Chooser dialog box will display a graphic of all the printers set up for your Macintosh. Select the new printer by clicking on the appropriate icon and then close the dialog box by clicking the upper left corner of the box. Some of the forms will be more legible if you print them using Landscape mode. To print a form in Landscape mode, click File and then Page Setup in the drop-down menu. Click the Orientation icon to change the printer setting from Portrait to Landscape mode. The accompanying graphic will illustrate that you made the change. Click OK to enable the setting and print the form using the instructions presented previously. Does WebAdvisor leave a "cookie" on my desktop to support its navigation? WebAdvisor puts a session cookie on your desktop when you log into the system. When you close your browser, the cookie is erased. I am getting slow response to my WebAdvisor queries. What is the problem? TIME OF DAY | YEAR WebAdvisor use increases during registration, immediately after finals, and during the day. We suggest that you access the system after 7:00 PM, Pacific Time, and before 7:00AM Pacific Time. INTERNET TRAFFIC There are a number of conditions that also might affect your response time in WebAdvisor. Often an increase in the response time is related to traffic over the internet. Depending upon your geographic location, WebAdvisor will use the Intranet, the Internet or both. The number of users on any portion of those systems will often slow the response time for everyone. YOUR COMPUTER Your own computers internal speed can also effect the speed at which you can send and receive information to the server. If you experience slow page loads from other web sites, then you may experience the same effect while using WebAdvisor. REQUEST QUEUING Downloading large files can drastically increase response time for all other users on the network. When more people are accessing WebAdvisor at the same time, response times can also decrease. This is caused by queuing server requests to the WebAdvisor servers. INTERNET CONNECTION You may also experience slower performance during peak usage periods for your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Users of 28.8 modems, DSL or Broadband, without using the AOL browser, should experience better performance.
