Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise.

There are two sides of the Sports Medicine realm. These are Performance Enhancement and the other is Injury Care & Management. Both of these realms enclose a wide range of fields and professions.

Performance enhancement consists of:

Injury Care & Management consists of:

American Heart Association (AHA)

Fresno City College is a current Training Site for AHA and many of our courses offer students the option to acquire a certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. 

National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

Fresno City College offers students education and training into becoming a Certified Personal Trainer. At the conclusion of the course, students have the option of taking the exam offered through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
