First Year Experience

As a student in FCC's FYE Program, you have access to support that is proven to help students achieve their goals. The FYE Program offers: Early Registration, Cohorted English and Math courses with students in your Ram Pathway, Free and Low-Cost Textbooks, Free Laptops, Dedicated Counselors and Staff, Speakers, Field Trips, and much more!

Upward Bound

Pre-college TRIO Program. It is designed to assist low income and first generation college-bound students to further their education beyond high school. Upward Bound provides assistance in acquiring the academic skills and motivation necessary to succeed in high school and transition into college!

Adult Education

Classes, resources, and support for students who never completed high school, have attended or are currently attending an Adult School, and those who are interested in English as a Second Language classes.

CalWORKs

CalWORKs is dedicated to providing services to low income parents, currently receiving cash aid, seeking to become self-sufficient through education.

CARE

Provides counseling and financial resources for single parents currently receiving cash aid/TANF. We provide "over and above and in addition to" what the college and EOPS provides to our students. All CARE students are EOPS students, too!

Provides stipends and grants for students in the Child Development or Education programs.

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services

Leon S. Peters Program

Provides an enriched educational experience to recognize and meet the needs of academically excellent students. Honors courses are innovative and reflect the instructors’ interest in and commitment to the students’ academic, intellectual, cultural, and social development.

Next Up (Promise Scholars)

A supplemental component of the existing Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program. The purpose is to strengthen the capacity of community college districts to support the higher education success, health and well-being of current and former foster youth who are enrolled in California’s community colleges.

Resources for American Indian Needs (RAIN)

A learning community designed to promote, inspire, and guide students upon entry, duration, and completion of their academic goals. The program purpose is to provide a support system for American Indian and Indigenous people of the Americas, but is open to all students.

Rising Scholars

The Rising Scholars Program is funded by the Formerly Incarcerated Students Reentry Program Grant. The program is designed to establish or support formerly incarcerated students enrolled in community college. We focus on the students' successful reentry into the community.

TRiO CTE-STEM

TRiO CTE-STEM is a federally-funded program designed to assist students who are pursuing an Pre-Allied Health, Automotive, or Manufacturing-related majors and are also low-income, first-generation to college, and/or have a disability. This program will provide support services to students who have academic need and the motivation to achieve their maximum potential in higher education. Fresno City College Students will receive the guidance and support as they obtain a certificate, degree and/or transfer to a 4-year institution.

Army ROTC

A college program built to produce leaders for the United States Army.

Provides services and support to assist with ensuring Fresno city college students are afforded the opportunity to transfer to a four year university at a UC, CSU, HBCU or any applicable college system.

Campus Life and Beyond

Career and Employment Center

The Career and Employment Center (CEC) provides a variety of resources to currently enrolled students and FCC alumni. Additionally, the CEC staff are available to assist counselors, faculty, staff and collaborate with community partners and businesses.
