The EMT Basic Training Course is designed to prepare personnel in the fire, life safety, and related fields to render care to the ill and injured in the prehospital environment, in accordance with all federal, state, and local Emergency Medical Services authorities.
Fresno City College offers day and evening Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses in the Spring, Fall, and Summer terms. The day courses meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and the evening courses meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Plus Additional Non-FCC Costs - approx $515.00
The EMT Refresher course is designed for the student needing to complete the “Continuing Education” (CE) requirements necessary to maintain their EMT-Basic certification status. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will have satisfied all the required, approved Continuing Education (CE) hours and Skills Competency Verification for Emergency Medial Technician-B Recertification.
All Refresher courses include recertification in the use of a Glucometer, and the administration of Epinephrine and Naloxone.

The Fresno County Paramedic Program, in affiliation with Fresno City College, is designed to train Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel in Advance Life Support (ALS) and the scope of practice of a Paramedic according to National Standards, California State Regulations, and Fresno County Policies & Procedures.
It is the program goal, "To prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels."
The Paramedic Program consists of two courses, Fire Technology 133 and Fire Technology 136. The program is 31.5 units and is divided into 3 phases:
