Tuesday, January 19, 6:00 pm
Please join President Carole Goldsmith and Associated Student Body President Yatzari Victoria on Tuesday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. for a community conversation regarding the Transfer of Power in our nation’s Capital. During this community conversation we will discuss the historical and political perspectives of this very important governmental process.
Also joining the conversation will be FCC history instructor, Paul Gilmore and FCC political science instructor Nick Hernandez.
For over two centuries the United States of America has expected a peaceful transfer of power when a new president begins, but has it always been so? Over the last several months our nation has experienced a period of protests and civil unrest that brings much concern to its citizens. On the evening before President-Elect Joe Biden is sworn in as the next President of the United States, we will present how history has recorded this tradition and how politics has influenced its outcome.
All faculty, students and staff are welcome to this virtual forum.
