Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)

The CARE program provides counseling and financial resources for single parents currently receiving CalWORKs, cash aid, general relief, or TANF. We provide "over and above and in addition to" what the college and EOPS provides to our students. All CARE students are EOPS students too!

Students interested in applying for CARE should first complete the online EOPS application starting June 13, 2023.

 Eligibility

To be eligible for CARE, students must be:

• 18 years or older
• Single parent, head of household as determined by county/agency providing benefits
• Have at least one child under 18 years old
• Parent or dependent currently receives cash aid, general relief, or TANF (formerly AFDC) or have an active CalWORKs case number (Note: Receiving only Medi-Cal or CalFresh is not enough to be eligible)
• Students must also meet all EOPS eligibility criteria
