Basic Fire Academy Certificate

Our Fire Academy is meticulously designed to equip students with the comprehensive hands-on training essential for entry-level positions in fire agencies. Students are prepared to obtain the State of California Firefighter I certification, a credential recognized and valued by both state and local fire departments. Fire Technology Degrees

The Fire Technology AS degree provides foundational knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in the fire service. Fire Technology Company Officer AS degree is designed for current fire service professionals aiming for promotional opportunities. It focuses on leadership and advanced operational skills. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Programs

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs include the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic certificate course, the EMT Refresher course, the Paramedic Program through Fresno County, the Paramedic Associate Degree, and various continuing education courses. State Fire Training Certificates

State Fire Training courses are offered throughout the year at our state-of-the-art campus in collaboration with the California State Fire Marshal's Office. Our courses are far less expensive than most training centers, and include high-quality instruction by certified instructors. Available Certificates: Company Officer, Driver Operator, Fire Instructor, Fire Investigator, Fire Rescue, Incident Command, and Chief Officer.   sft@fresnocitycollege.edu

About Us

The Fresno City College Fire Technology Department was founded in 1992 by Mike Collins, Retired Battalion Chief with the City of Fresno Fire Department. We have been an Accredited Regional Training Program (ARTP) through the California Office of the State Fire Marshal since 2014 and re-accredited in 2022.

To cultivate and inspire career-ready professionals in fire service, EMS, and public safety through dedicated training, education, and mentorship, upholding values of integrity, professionalism, discipline, accountability, and leadership.
