Accreditation

The Fresno City College Respiratory Care Program, Program #200083, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an 'outcomes based' process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.

The next comprehensive evaluation of the program is scheduled to occur no later than November 30, 2027.

Programmatic Outcomes
Program national exam pass rates are based on the number of students passing the exam on the first attempt divided by the total number of students graduating from the program. Results are impacted by students who have not yet taken the exams.

Fresno City College program measurements include total pass rates for all students taking the exam (multiple attempts included). For 2024, 64% of the students who graduated have passed the California licensing exam and 100% are employed. Refer to the programmatic outcomes link for more detailed information.
