Cristina Gonzales

Cristina Gonzales is a Chumash museum professional, cultural practitioner, Šmuwič language learner and mother. She currently serves on the California Indian Basketweavers Board of Directors. Her specialty is in museum collection research, archeological records and NAGPRA. She has assisted with countless Tribal consultations, claims and research. She is also an Indigenous Educator. Her recent projects include the 2020-21 California Indian Conference visual art exhibition (co-curator). She holds a B.A. in History from CSU-Fresno and an M.A. in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University. She lives in Visalia, CA.
