Dr. Adams is a civil engineer with a background in infrastructure design and management, and project management. Her experience includes managing over $25M in design and construction projects and more than three years of international work experience in Okinawa, Japan. She earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources and sustainability. Dr. Adams has been actively involved in research, curriculum development, and outreach to incorporate experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate engineering students, create a more inclusive environment in engineering for underrepresented students, and to expose underrepresented students to career opportunities in engineering since she began teaching in 2010. She holds professional engineering (PE) licenses in Hawaii and Arizona.
