Each year, approximately 1,300 high school students participate in the Career Skills Challenge held on the Fresno City College campus. The Career Skills Challenge provides recognition and encouragement to high school students for their accomplishments in career skills, improves participation in educational programs, and encourages public support of career technical education.

Competitions take place from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm (unless otherwise noted in specifications) in assigned classrooms; followed by an awards ceremony from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm in the FCC gymnasium.

Career Skills Challenge is open to high school students in grades 9 through 12 within Fresno, Madera, and Mariposa County Schools. All high school students are allowed to participate whether or not they are enrolled in a ROP course. A student may only compete in one event. Food is not provided at the event. FCC will have food available for purchase at designated booths.
