A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) is a hypnotic, genre-bending vampire Western directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. Set in the ghost town of “Bad City,” this black-and-white Persian-language film follows a mysterious, chador-clad vampire who roams the night, preying on those she deems unworthy and showing mercy to others. When she encounters Arash, a young loner entangled in debt and despair, a connection forms between two isolated souls. As darkness and danger press in, they navigate fear, longing, and power in a landscape of outlaw streets, silence, and shadows.
