Workshop rotations available for beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants.

Day One Workshop:

Wednesday December 10, 2025
8 am - 4 pm
Check-in: 7:30 am

Intro:

Machine troubleshooting
Advanced safety practices
GMAW: Modes of metal transfer
D1.1 Clinic: Passing visual inspection on a 1G 7018 qualification plate

Intermediate:

GTAW lecture and workshop (mild steel, stainless, aluminum)
SMAW 3F (7018 & 6010 downhill) fillet welds on ½" plate
D1.1 SMAW 3G open root qualification plate (6010 root, 7018 cap passes)
Visual inspection of plates by a CWI
Qualification test prep for bend (for those who pass visual)
Track torch operation
Engine drives and suitcase welders

Advanced:

Advanced GTAW skills and pipe preparation
2G limited thickness open root practice plate with GTAW root and 7018 cap
2G 4" schedule 80 pipe test (GTAW root pass with 7018 cap passes)
Visual inspection of plates by a CWI
Qualification test prep for bend (for those who pass visual)
Track torch operation
Engine drives and suitcase weldersGMAW-P

Day 2 Workshop

Thursday December 11, 2024
8 am - 2 pm
Check-in: 7:30 am

Day two workshop will consist of an ag welding contest that will follow CATA curricular code.
