FCC President’s address will include Special Announcement by Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula

Fresno City College President, Dr. Carole Goldsmith will host the inaugural State of the College on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. The sold out event will begin with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. in the West Courtyard of the Old Administration Building. The State of the College address will take place in the OAB Auditorium beginning at 8:15 a.m.
Dr. Goldsmith is providing a unique opportunity for community, business, and educational leaders to come together as she shares California’s first community college’s rich history, common goals, and accomplishments over the last year. Attendees will also hear President Goldsmith’s vision and how it will impact everyone’s life in our region.
President Goldsmith will be joined by the new Associated Student Government officers including president Christopher Washington. The President will also present two Ram Champion Awards to people and businesses that have worked tirelessly to move the College’s mission forward.

During the address, Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (31st District) will join President Goldsmith for a special announcement concerning a major state investment from Dr. Arambula to the college. The announcement will be instrumental in helping the college’s commitment of improving services to our career technical education programs.
(Editor’s note: Dr. Arambula and Dr. Goldsmith will be available for interviews regarding this investment from 7:45 – 8:10 a.m. A technology display will be available in front of the OAB.)
Update August 7, 2018: The special announcement by Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula has been cancelled at this event. The inaugural State of the College breakfast will proceed as planned. Some of the topics covered will be student enrollment, student success rates and the economic impact of the college to the community.
