Join Team HEAL to get fit and healthy!
Fresno City College and Kaiser Permanente want to help you keep your New Year's resolution. Join Team HEAL (Healthy Eating & Active Living) with your enrollment in one of two PE 6 Fitness and Health classes. The two Team HEAL classes are hybrid, a combination online and face-to-face class. The classes meet one day a week on campus and students are expected to complete assignments on their own and online. The classes begin the week of January 22. Each 8-week, one unit class meets once a week for an hour, one on Thursdays and one on Fridays.
Select PE 6 - look under Hybrid/Online classes and select Section #25055 for the Thursday class or Section #25059 for the Friday class.
The Goal of the Team HEAL program is to educate 400 students at Fresno City College on the benefits of healthy eating and active living. The class will focus on exposing students to a variety of physical activities, as well as healthy food choices. Students in the program will have access to free, healthy food though the FCC Ram Pantry, as well as screening for CalFresh eligibility. Students will also learn how to prepare healthy meals at home.
The class is made possible through a grant from Kaiser Permanente. Students who sign up for Team HEAL will receive:
