Fresno City College Hosts American River College in Non-Conference Matchup

The Fresno City College Rams (1-1) will face their long-standing rival, the American River College Beavers (0-2), this Saturday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m. at Ratcliffe Stadium. Both teams are looking to turn their seasons around after suffering early-season losses to Diablo Valley College.

The Rams, currently ranked No. 14 in the latest JC Athletic Bureau state poll, are coming off a thrilling 41-38 comeback victory last Saturday against Sierra College. After trailing 31-17 going into the fourth quarter, the Rams offense exploded for 24 points to secure their first win of the season.

“The team showed incredible resilience and heart in that game,” said head coach Tony Caviglia. “We’re hoping to carry that momentum into our home opener and give our fans something to cheer about.”

The Beavers, meanwhile, are searching for their first win after a 44-30 loss to Diablo Valley last weekend. This will be the ninth consecutive year the Rams and Beavers have scheduled each other.

Historically, the series, which dates back to 1961, favors the Rams with a 23-13-1 record. In their last meeting in 2024, the Rams edged out a close 14-10 victory in Sacramento. The Rams’ last home win against the Beavers was in 2022, a commanding 42-7 performance.

Saturday’s game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. at Ratcliffe Stadium.
