Fresno City College to Host MLK Community Leadership Panel on Dr. King’s Legacy and Civic Engagement
The African American Faculty & Staff Association (AAFSA) at Fresno City College is proud to announce a special community leadership event in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. The MLK Leadership Panel will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the Old Administration Building (OAB), Room 251.
This distinguished panel brings together a diverse group of Fresno leaders, ministers, and educators to discuss the enduring legacy of Dr. King and the vital role of civic leadership in the Central Valley today. Attendees will gain insights into how Dr. King’s vision continues to shape local advocacy, public service, and academic excellence.
Distinguished Panelists include:
- Eric Payne: Executive Director, The Central Valley Urban Institute
- Taylor Kimber: Central CA Coordinator, External Affairs Office of Governor Gavin Newsom
- B.T. Lewis: Pastor, Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church
- Dr. Alena Hairston: English Instructor, Academic Senate Officer at Large, and Legislative Liaison
- Daniel Moore: Vice President of Administrative Services, Fresno City College
