Interested in FYE?

Experience your first year of college with FYE! Designed for incoming Fresno City College students who are undecided or unsure of their major, the First Year Experience Program provides comprehensive support to help you transition smoothly into college life. We're all about building a community where you belong, fostering connections, and promoting academic excellence through equitable practices. You'll benefit from cohorted classes with peers, and dedicated instructors and counselors who are here to guide you every step of the way.

FYE Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility is focused on the following key components:

2026/2027 High school graduate
Applied to Fresno City College for SU/FA2026
Has NOT completed Dual Enrollment for the following courses : COMM-C1000 AND/OR COUN-48

Steps to becoming an FYE Student

Submit an application

2026-2027 APPLICATION

Accept your FYE offer

Once you submit your application, you will receive a notification via your personal email that your application was received.

If accepted, you will be asked to complete an "acceptance offer" to guarantee your spot in the program.

*Please make sure you check your personal emails for these notifications*

Enroll in FYE cohorted classes

Once your "Acceptance offer" has been received, you will be notified on the next steps.

During this time, student will get information on cohort courses and specific class times and days . Student will be AUTOMATICALLY enrolled into these courses and once completed, student will be notified of their enrollment. Students must stay enrolled in all assigned FYE cohort classes.

Ram Ready

RAM READY is a New Student Welcome Event that is REQUIRED for all FYE new students. This event happens during the month of August. FYE students are required to register for a specific in-person session where you will meet FYE staff and peers. More information on the date, location, and time will come.
