VALLEY LEGISLATIVE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

INSPIRING PUBLIC LEADERSHIP for THE CENTRAL VALLEY

The Valley Legislative Internship Program provides students with a unique opportunity to develop public leadership skills while gaining firsthand experience in government and the political process. Selected interns will work part-time in legislative offices, including City Council, County Board of Supervisors, Governor’s Office, State Senate, State Assembly, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives.

Internship placements may be located in Bakersfield, Fresno, Hanford, Merced, Modesto, Visalia, and Stockton. If selected, you will be placed in an office within commuting distance.

Each semester, 11 college students are selected to work in a city, county, state, or federal elected official’s office in the San Joaquin Valley. Maddy Interns gain hands-on experience in policy research, constituent services, and community outreach, all while learning about the challenges and opportunities that shape our region. This program is ideal for students passionate about making a difference and building stronger connections in the San Joaquin Valley. For more information, click here
