Dr. Vang is the daughter of Hmong refugee parents, who instilled in her a deep appreciation for education. Throughout her many years as a student, and now as an educator, she continues to be an advocate for higher education as a vehicle for empowerment, transformation, and economic mobility. Dr. Vang taught high school English for 20 years before coming to Fresno City College. She loves what she does, and believes her life truly exemplifies the American Dream. Dr. Vang is also a proud wife and mother.
