The goals of Disability Awareness Month are to:

  • Raise awareness about the diverse experiences of people with disabilities
  • Create a more inclusive campus for students with disabilities
  • Challenge assumptions and stereotypes regarding people with disabilities
  • Increase awareness of available resources for students with disabilities

Join us for the following workshops scheduled throughout the month of October.

Disability Rights of California (DRC)

When: October 12 at 10:00 a.m.

Disability Rights of California (DRC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 that defends, advances, and strengthens the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities.

Best Buddies International

When: October 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Central Valley Training Center (CVTC)

When: October 14 at 2:00 p.m.

CVTC offers a variety of consumer services designed to educate, facilitate, train and assist individuals to reach their full potential and live life to the fullest.

Dreamcatchers assists adults with limitations and disabilities by providing assessments, job preparation, job placement, and job coaching. Dreamcatchers employment services are key to fighting stigma and discrimination for individuals with limitations.

California Telephone Access Program (CTAP)

When: October 26 at 10:00 a.m.
