Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)

The CARE program provides counseling and financial resources for single parents currently receiving cash aid/TANF. We provide "over and above and in addition to" what the college and EOP&S provides to our students. All CARE students are EOP&S students, too!

Eligibility

To be eligible for CARE, students must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Single parent, head of household as determined by county/agency providing benefits
  • Have at least one child under 18 years old
  • Parent or dependent currently receives cash aid, TANF (formerly AFDC) or have an active CalWORKs case number (Note: Receiving only CalFresh or "food stamps" is not enough to be eligible)
  • Students must also meet all EOPS eligibility criteria
