Chicano-Latino Studies

This program explores Mexican, Mexican-American, and Chicano/a/x history, heritage, and culture. Chicano-Latino Studies offers an interdisciplinary analysis of the study of community, resistance, and systems within the United States context. The curriculum provides students with a strong academic background helpful to those planning careers in teaching in CLS and Ethnic Studies in the K-12 and college system, law, health, education, social work, business, and industry. Chicano-Latino Studies provides the knowledge and skills necessary to help students understand, communicate, and appreciate the rich cultural diversity in U.S. American society through the study of the Mexican, Mexican-American and Chicano/a/x people and the broader Latino community.
