Program Highlights

The FCC Training Institute provides phlebotomy training for CPT-1 licensure approved by California Laboratory Field Services. This program exceeds state standards and provides 48 hours of theory and 120 hours of clinical rotation. Gain hands-on experience of at least 100 successful venipunctures, 25 skin punctures, and 2 arterial observations. Due to the high demand, participants are chosen through a lottery.

  • Patient risk factors and complications
  • Legal issues related to blood collection

Program Requirements

  • Attend the mandatory orientation
  • Background check, drug screen, and immunizations (details at orientation)
  • Current CPR Card (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers)

Advisory Notes

  • The state of California may require criminal record clearance through fingerprinting when applying for licensure as a Phlebotomist
  • A high school diploma or GED is required for licensure by the State

Class Dates & Times

Saturdays, January 25 - March 7, 2020, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (168 hours total) in the FCC Health Sciences Division, Room 280

Registration Fee

$2,995

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received up to five (5) working days before the course start date are refundable, minus a $25 processing fee. After that, cancellations are subject to the entire course fee. Please note that if you don't cancel and don't attend, you are responsible for payment.
