Program Completion

To graduate from the Fresno City College Nursing Program, all required nursing courses must be passed. All general education courses required by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) must be completed with a grade of C or higher (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, English, Math, Communications, Psychology, and Sociology). It is highly recommended that every student meets with the nursing counselor as needed to confirm course completions as a way of preparing for graduation, BRN requirements, and the NCLEX-RN examination.

A required meeting may be held to assist students in the fourth semester to file for the NCLEX-RN and for graduation. A notice of the day and time will be posted on the Canvas student site. At this meeting, the required forms for the BRN and Fresno City College graduation will be completed and an explanation of applying for licensure and taking of the NCLEX-RN will be provided.

The pinning ceremony is the symbolic welcoming of newly graduated nursing students into the nursing profession.  It is about honoring and celebrating nursing students at the culmination of their education journey to becoming a registered nurse.  Students wishing to participate in the pinning ceremony must complete all requisite courses of the nursing program.

The Nursing faculty strongly recommends that all nursing graduates attend the college graduation. It is a ceremony that recognizes your accomplishments at the college. It is also an important way to demonstrate our Nursing Program’s success and recognize our graduates at the college level.
